PROHIBITION TUNNELS

Take a guided tour: 11 miles of tunnels beneath the streets of LA, that serviced LA's "speakeasies" during the Prohibition.

"Officially, the underground tunnels of Los Angeles are closed to the public but there are still a few passages where you can enter and take a sneak-peak." — Passport Symphony

Stories say these tunnels were used by police to transport prisoners, by bank security to safely transport large amounts of cash, and by forensic experts and mobsters to store bodies. Nowadays they are closed for the most part, but some are still accessible and used as filming locations, as convenient abbreviations for city employees between buildings, and as training grounds for runners in bad weather.
